We are currently seeking an Enabling Works – Senior Project Manager to work with us on a project in Ireland.
Responsibilities
Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple Enabling Work Contract packages (including archaeology, heritage, utilities, environment, and protection works for Northern/Southern sections)
Ensure all packages meet timelines, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations
Liaise with local authorities, environmental, heritage bodies, and utility providers for compliance and coordination
Integrate enabling works smoothly into the overall programme, minimizing disruption
Monitor/report progress, risks, and mitigation strategies for enabling works
Ensure safety, environmental protection, and community focus in execution
Develop and manage project scope, budget, schedules, and compliance with regulations/codes
Report progress to stakeholders and resolve issues/delays promptly
Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and ensure project alignment with other project teams
Review and align interfacing contracts to programme objectives
Track/report project expenditure, schedule, milestones, changes, and quality
Identify and mitigate risks related to railway interfaces
Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and manage systems integration
Support compliance with planning/procurement policies and encourage continuous improvement
Perform additional duties as required by the role
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ project delivery experience with at least 5 years’ in specialism across the project lifecycle through to completion in high value metro rail or similar project
At least Higher Certificate degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate field or Ordinary Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field would be advantageous
Holding PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
Being certified CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
Professional registration with institution e.g.ChPP– or working towards this
Associate Member / Member or equivalent of an appropriate institution e.g. MAPM, IPM
Enabling works and construction management experience
Commercial and financial awareness in project/package environments
Experience leading project components within large, diverse teams
Skilled at building stakeholder relationships at all levels
Excellent communication skills for clear project dialogue
Proven ability to deliver quality project outcomes and manage technical outputs efficiently
Knowledge/experience of NEC Contracts required
Strong project management skills for end-to-end delivery
Proficient in gathering, documenting, and analysing requirements
Skilled in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
Collaborative team player for cohesive project delivery
Problem-solving skills to keep projects on track
Knowledge of railway systems design, operations, and safety
Experience in quality assurance for project deliverables
Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organisational skills
Ability to drive and govern high-quality outcomes
