About the Project
My client are delivering a major underground high-voltage grid connection spanning approximately 34km, involving the excavation and installation of cable trenches, ducting, and full road reinstatement works. We are now seeking two experienced Civil Supervisors to oversee daily site activities and ensure works are carried out safely, to specification, and in line with all company and regulatory standards.
Role Overview
The Civil Supervisors will be responsible for managing our civil subcontractor on site, ensuring that Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) standards are upheld, and that all work is carried out to the required quality. This role requires strong on-site leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a consistent presence across the work route.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise civil subcontractors on a daily basis, ensuring safe and efficient progress of works.
* Monitor excavation, duct installation and reinstatement activities to ensure compliance with project specifications.
* Ensure strict adherence to HSSE policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
* Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety checks as required.
* Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and daily diaries.
* Ensure quality standards are met, including proper installation and reinstatement practices.
* Liaise with project engineers, clients, landowners, and local authorities where necessary.
* Proactively identify potential issues or risks and implement corrective actions promptly.
* Support and encourage a positive safety culture across the site.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience supervising civil works, ideally involving underground cable installation or utilities/ducting works.
* Strong knowledge of site safety standards and best practices.
* Ability to interpret construction drawings and method statements.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with subcontractors and project teams.
* Full driving licence required (van will be provided).
Qualifications / Training
* Supervisory training such as CIF Managing Safely in Construction (or equivalent) –
essential

* Certificate in Traffic Management –
highly beneficial

* Valid Safe Pass/CSCS cards –
required
