Occupational Therapist
This is a challenging role that involves delivering occupational therapy interventions to support the autonomy and participation of older adults in meaningful activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in working with older adults in a mental health context, confidence in delivering compensatory and enabling interventions, and excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments focusing on functional ability, cognitive function, and daily living skills. They will also develop and implement compensatory strategies to support clients with complex needs, complete specialist seating assessments and interventions, and facilitate individual and group-based programs within the inpatient environment.
In addition, the Occupational Therapist will contribute to the development of the OT service and engage in clinical audit and best practice initiatives. They will work collaboratively with the community OT team to support discharge planning and ensure that clients receive high-quality care.
Key qualifications for this role include a BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU), CORU Registration, and a strong interest in working with older adults in a mental health context.
