About the Role The Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly is seeking a dynamic and committed Youth Ministry Coordinator to lead and implement initiatives under the Youth and Family seed of the diocesan pastoral plan, Seeds of Hope. Reporting to the Director of Pastoral Planning and Development, the Youth Ministry Coordinator will play a vital role in engaging young people and young adults, supporting parish volunteers, and collaborating with diocesan groups to bring the vision of Seeds of Hope to life across 46 parishes. Key Responsibilities Coordinate youth ministry initiatives across the Archdiocese aligned with the Seeds of Hope plan. Work collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups working in youth ministry and pastoral planning & development, in particular the Youth and Family seed group so as to implement the vision for Youth and Family contained in Seeds of Hope. Provide training and support to parish-based youth ministry volunteers. Facilitate events, workshops, and programmes that encourage youth participation in Church life. Develop engaging faith-based content for young people, including via social media. Maintain accurate records and produce regular progress reports. Engage regularly with clergy, pastoral teams, and diocesan staff to support youth initiatives. Essential Requirements Practical experience in youth ministry, youth work, catechetics, or pastoral care. Recognised qualification in youth ministry, youth work, catechetics, or related discipline. Proven ability to relate to, engage with, and inspire young people and young adults. Demonstrated commitment to faith development and promotion of Gospel values. Strong facilitation and training skills. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and parishes. Proficient in social media use for youth engagement. Full clean driving licence and access to own transport. Desirable Qualifications & Skills A qualification in Catechesis or Pastoral Ministry (highly advantageous). Understanding of safeguarding and data protection principles. Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters appropriately. Willingness to adapt to the evolving needs of young people. Additional Information The role is based at the Pastoral Development Office, Knockanrawley, Tipperary. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours, including regular evenings and weekends. There will be occasional overnight commitments.
