Summary of the role

The Manufacturing Engineer participates as a team member in the production / engineering team providing line support and engineering support for commercial product and supporting R&D production introduction.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Contributes to yield / efficiency improvement projects for production.
2. Contributes to execution of process validation activities and test protocols.
3. Conducts feasibility studies to improve yields, balance the line and increase outputs.
4. Completes / maintains preventative maintenance for the cleanroom.
5. Complete equipment qualification.
6. Support R&D projects in phase as they transition into manufacturing.
7. Participate in daily meetings to drive improvement from a yield, output and efficiency perspective.
8. Ensure standard times are accurate and achievable for each part.
9. Drive continuous improvement within the site.
Education and Experience Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics or Biomedical Engineering is desired. In lieu of a degree, previous experience in a similar or exact role may be considered.
2. 3 – 5 years of medical device design and development experience is desired.
Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to interact with clients and companies in a professional manner.
2. Customer focus with proficient communication skills, written and oral.
3. Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness, a drive to succeed, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
4. SolidWorks 3D CAD proficiency.
5. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM / DFA) is desired.
6. Experience working within operations / engineering to develop strong manufacturing process instructions and operator training to ensure smooth product transition into the manufacturing environment is desired.
7. Familiarity with FDA QSR and ISO 13485 medical device regulations is desired.
8. Familiarity with probability and statistics.
