Job Overview
The QA / Turnover Lead is responsible for managing quality assurance processes and leading the turnover and handover of completed systems and documentation to the client. This role ensures that all works are delivered in compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and client quality standards, with a strong focus on right-first-time delivery. The role operates on the contractor/subcontractor side, working closely with construction, commissioning, and project teams to ensure smooth system completion and successful project close-out.
Key Responsibilities - Quality Assurance
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with contract and client requirements
Ensure compliance with project specifications, ITPs, method statements, and regulatory standards
Manage inspection and test plans (ITPs) and oversee site inspections
Review and close out NCRs, observations, and punch list items in collaboration with site teams
Liaise with client QA teams, consultants, and inspectors during audits and inspections
Key Responsibilities - Turnover & Handover
Lead the turnover strategy from early project stages through to final handover
Define and manage system boundaries, completion scopes, and handover milestones
Coordinate mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities
Ensure accurate and timely compilation of turnover documentation, including but not limited to: test packs, as‑built records, O&M manuals, certificates, and compliance documentation
Manage final handover packages to the client and support system acceptance
Key Responsibilities - Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with Construction Managers, Commissioning Leads, Document Control, and Project Controls
Track and report QA and turnover progress against programme milestones
Provide weekly and monthly reports as required by the project team and client
Maintain accurate records within project CDE systems (e.g. Dalux, Aconex or similar)
Support lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in managing QA, turnover, commissioning and completion on pharmaceutical, industrial or data centre projects
Strong understanding of contractor‑side delivery and construction execution
Familiarity with inspection, testing, and commissioning workflows
Experience managing handover documentation and system turnover processes
Working knowledge of QA standards and procedures (ASME and ISO 9001 experience desirable)
Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
Experience with CDE/document management systems (e.g. EIDA, Dalux, Aconex, Procore or similar)
Strong documentation control and reporting capability
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
