The Faculty of Science and Computing at SETU Waterford is composed of five Departments, one of which is the Department of Pharmacy.
The Department was established to facilitate the development and roll out of a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) at SETU.
The newly established department builds on an established track record of undergraduate, taught postgraduate and PhD activities in pharmaceutical science, molecular biology with biopharmaceutical science, pharmacy technician and health science programmes at the university.
The Department of Pharmacy plans to enrol its first group of students to the MPharm in September ****, and will ensure pharmacy graduates have the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours to meet the Core Competency Framework for Pharmacists (CCF), with a clear focus on professional, patient-centred pharmacy practice.
SETU is seeking a highly motivated Senior Academic in Pharmacy with personal drive and ambition, dedicated to making a significant and lasting contribution to the lives of patients, our learners, and the healthcare sector, as well as to the development of the University and the furtherance of its core values.
The academic will play a key role in the development, implementation, and delivery of pharmacy education, research, and professional practice within the Department of Pharmacy.
The appointee will report to the Head of Department and Head of Faculty of Science and Computing, and will have a leading and senior role in the academic direction of the MPharm programme, including teaching, research, academic assessment, academic administration and professional standards and student support.
The appointee will act as an advisor to management in quality assurance issues and will participate in quality assurance and accreditation procedures.
The appointee, a registered suitably qualified pharmacist, will have a strong understanding of the full scope of pharmacy education and practice, including science, healthcare and professional practice, with the integration of cutting-edge research and innovation aligned with SETU ethos of research led teaching.
