Assistant Director of Nursing
In the esteemed nursing home in Galway county, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to fill this key role.
About the Role:
* The ideal candidate will assist with hiring and training nurses, as well as monitoring their performance to ensure high-quality patient care.
* They will also be responsible for managing clinical operations, developing care plans, and preparing daily schedules.
* The Assistant Director of Nursing will oversee the implementation of departmental procedures and policies, while ensuring that nursing staff adheres to these guidelines.
* Additionally, they will assist in budget preparation and expense management, conduct patient rounds, and address complaints in a timely manner.
* Furthermore, the successful candidate will evaluate the performance of the department, recommend improvements, and schedule staff meetings to keep everyone informed.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in nursing older persons within the last 6 years is required.
* The candidate must have a minimum of 7 years post-registration experience and hold a third-level qualification in management.
* They should possess in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and regulatory inspection activity as it pertains to residential care centres.
* The successful candidate will have the ability to manage their own workload effectively while responding flexibly to new demands at short notice.
* They should demonstrate an ability to embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement and learning throughout the residential care home.
* The ideal candidate will have the skill to influence others, build constructive relationships, and achieve outcomes.
* They will promote an ethos and culture of quality assurance within the clinical area, identifying and establishing benchmarks and KPIs in consultation with the Director of Nursing.
* A Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification is mandatory, along with availability to work flexible hours when required.
* The successful candidate will be expected to engage in Continuous Professional Development and training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
