As a Consultant in General Adult Liaison Psychiatry, you will have the opportunity to provide medical services in Cork Mental Health Service.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a consultant medical service in Cork Mental Health Service and be responsible for the care and treatment of patients.
* Establish and maintain mechanisms for the co-ordination of the care with the multidisciplinary team and between the team and other health and social care agencies.
* Lead and engage in the provision of community-based assessment and treatment programmes including out-patients clinics, day hospital services, community services, residential centres, and any service deemed necessary in the future in line with evidence-based practice and National Clinical Programme for Dual Diagnosis.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists.
* Participate in clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide supervision and training to NCHDs (non-consultant hospital doctors), medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

Essential Criteria
* Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for Specialist Registration.
* 5 - 10 years' relevant experience post-graduation.
* Possesses a detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant specialist domain.
