Job DescriptionPosition:Senior Scientist – CMC (Cell Therapy)Location:Galway, IrelandDepartment:CMC / Technical OperationsReports to:Head of CMCRole OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and technically skilledSenior Scientistto join our CMC team in Galway. This is a lab-based position for a scientist who thrives on hands-on experimental work while contributing to the development and scale-up of cutting-edgecell therapy products. Reporting to the Head of CMC, the Senior Scientist will play a key role in developing robust processes, assays, and methods to advance our therapies from research through clinical development.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Development & Lab WorkDesign, execute, and troubleshoot experiments to support upstream and downstream process development for cell therapy manufacturing.Perform hands-on laboratory work, including cell culture, media preparation, process optimization, and in-process testing.Develop and refine analytical methods for product characterization and release testing.Technology Transfer & Scale-UpSupport the transfer of processes from development into GMP manufacturing settings.Collaborate with CDMOs and internal teams to ensure smooth tech transfer.Document and present experimental data clearly and accurately.Regulatory & Quality SupportGenerate high-quality technical reports, SOPs, and CMC documentation for regulatory submissions.Ensure lab activities comply with GLP/GMP and health & safety standards.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with the Head of CMC, Quality, and R&D teams to align development activities with program timelines.Provide scientific insight and contribute to problem-solving across projects.Mentor junior scientists and technicians as the team grows.Qualifications & ExperienceMSc or PhD in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Bioprocessing, or related discipline.3–6 years' experience in cell therapy, biologics, or bioprocess development.Strong hands-on skills in mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and bioprocess development.Familiarity with analytical methods (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, microscopy).Experience with GMP/GLP environments preferred.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.Enthusiastic about lab work and eager to contribute at the bench while supporting broader CMC goals.Why Join Us?Work on the frontlines of cell therapy innovation in Galway's growing biotech hub.Be hands-on in the lab while contributing to transformative therapies.Collaborate with experienced leaders and a passionate team.Competitive salary and career development opportunities.
