About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Transport Planner. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day transport activities, ensuring smooth operations, and compliance with all transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Route Planning: Develop and plan driver routes using our IT systems to ensure full compliance with transport regulations, including Tachographs, drivers' hours, and SOPs.
* Delivery Schedule Development: Continuously improve the transport delivery schedule to enhance customer service and support internal stakeholders.
* Compliance Management: Ensure fleet operations and drivers adhere to all legislative guidelines, identifying and reporting any breaches promptly.
* Liaison with Drivers and 3rd Party Carriers: Handle transport-related queries and maintain strong communication with drivers and third-party carriers.
* Timely Dispatch: Ensure timely dispatch of loads to meet operational deadlines.
* Ownership & Accountability: Take full ownership of your areas of responsibility and contribute to achieving departmental and company KPIs.
* Driver Performance Monitoring: Utilize IT systems to review and monitor driver performance, ensuring adherence to standards.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Prior experience in transport planning or a similar role within the transport/distribution industry.
* Strong knowledge of transport regulations (Tachographs, drivers' hours, etc.).
* Proficiency in IT systems related to transport planning and route optimization.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
