Incident Prevention Officer
Location: Dublin 24
Reports to: Risk & Compliance Manager
Salary: €40,000 plus doe
Travel: Some travel within the Greater Dublin Area for route and risk assessments on road or in depots
This role is hands‑on and well suited to someone with an investigations, insurance claims, transport operations, or incident management background in various industries looking for a change. If you have carried out any of the following this could be the one for you;

Purpose of the Role
To support the Risk & Compliance team by helping reduce incidents involving drivers and vehicles, carrying out investigations, and assisting with safety initiatives that improve day‑to‑day operations.
This role would suit a background in the following
Transport & Logistics; vehicle incidents, driver behaviour, route risks, and operational safety Freight & logistics companies, Courier/delivery fleets, Taxi/private hire operators, Public transport operations
Or Insurance & Claims / Motor Claims Investigation; Motor/road traffic claims handlers, Loss adjusters, Field‑based insurance investigators
Or Health & Safety / Risk Management (Operational Level); Safety Officer, Risk Coordinator, Compliance support roles
Aviation Ground Operations / Rail Operations; incident investigation, and operational risk focus
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management & Investigation
* Attend incident scenes when required and gather information.
* Carry out factual investigations and prepare clear, concise reports.
* Identify driver‑related or route‑specific issues and highlight areas for improvement.
* Support the reduction of incidents involving incident‑prone drivers.
Risk Assessments & Site Visits
* Conduct practical route and roadside risk assessments (e.g., blind spots, traffic layouts, known hotspots).
* Work with internal teams to ensure route risk assessments are completed and updated.
* Act on road risks reported by drivers and colleagues.
Safety Support & Continuous Improvement
* Assist in delivering incident management training for new drivers.
* Support ongoing safety campaigns and operational improvement initiatives.
* Help with safety documentation, reporting trends, and tracking corrective actions.
* Work closely with Operations and Training teams to improve driver safety and prevent repeat incidents.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build positive working relationships with drivers, supervisors, Operations staff, and external partners.
* Represent the company at Public Transport Forums or meetings when required.
* Support anti‑social behaviour (ASB) initiatives including preparation for internal meetings.
General Safety Responsibilities
* Follow all Health & Safety policies and promote safe working practices.
* Maintain a tidy and safe working environment.
* Report hazards or unsafe practices through the correct channels.
* Support the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Person Profile
Essential Experience & Skills
* Experience in investigations, incident reporting, claims handling, or transport operations, or similar roles.
* Strong written communication – clear, structured reports.
* Confident communicator and comfortable speaking to groups.
* Ability to identify patterns or trends in incident data.
* Experience working with multiple stakeholders and building relationships.
* Good organisational skills and ability to follow processes.
* Excellent Initiative
Desirable
* Experience delivering training or briefings.
* Basic knowledge of H&S practices or legislation.
* Familiarity with route risk assessment or operational site visits.
* Ability to use simple creative tools for posters/campaigns (e.g., Canva).
* Experience in the transport, logistics, emergency services, or insurance sectors.
Ideal Attributes

Additional Information
This is a replacement role and sits within a small, supportive Risk & Compliance team therefore there is a go‑to person to assist with training / guidance. While the role involves some safety initiatives and campaigns, it is primarily practical and operational — focusing on incidents, driver behaviour, and route‑based risks.
