This role is critical in ensuring:Manufacturing continuity, Product quality protection, Regulatory compliance, Asset reliability.Failure of black utilities can directly impact pharmaceutical production, making this a key GMP-supporting position.Duties of the role include;Utilities OperationsEnsure continuous operation of black utility systems including:SteamCondensateChilled WaterCooling WaterCompressed AirHVAC support systemsMonitor system performance and escalate risks to supply continuityAct as technical lead for troubleshooting and fault resolutionSupport commissioning and project activities when requiredMaintenance & ReliabilityLead reactive maintenance to minimise production impactSupport development and optimisation of preventive maintenance programsEnsure equipment is maintained in accordance with: cGMP, Site procedures, Engineering best practiceIdentify critical spare parts and maintain appropriate MRO levelsTeam LeadershipDirect daily activities of Utilities TechniciansCoordinate work with: Site Manager, Utilities Coordinator, Clean Utilities LeadChair shift pass-down meetingsDrive closure of operational actionsContinuous ImprovementApply continuous improvement methodologies to: Enhance system reliability, Improve energy efficiency, Reduce downtime riskCollaborate with Engineering to introduce innovative solutionsComplianceEnsure all utility work aligns with:,cGMP, Change Control, Maintenance ProceduresComplete training in line with site training plansSupport audit readiness and inspection complianceStakeholder CoordinationAct as primary contact for all black utilities-related workCoordinate vendor support activitiesAttend weekly utilities planning meetingsOther duties include but not limited to;Support site projectsAssist commissioning activitiesProvide cross-functional technical support when requiredRequirements for this role;Recognised Trade Certificate in one of the following: Mechanical Trade (Fitter / Pipefitter / Millwright) / Electrical Trade / Instrumentation Trade / Refrigeration / HVAC Trade (Essential)Experience working in: Pharmaceutical / Biopharma / Regulated Manufacturing Environment (Desirable)Strong technical knowledge of industrial utility systemsAbility to interpret P&IDs and system schematicsRoot cause analysis capabilityLeadership and decision-making skillsGMP awarenessRisk-based maintenance approachPlease note:If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.If you are a non-EU/EEA national, you will require current and valid permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.Information on legislation and guides to the procedures in relation to obtaining greencard permits ,work permits, spousal/dependant permits is available on the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation website.
