The Food Production Chef is responsible for preparing and producing food in line with recipes, quality standards, and production schedules, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with food safety regulations in a high-volume production environment.
The role is a school term time, allowing staff to enjoy break's during Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas etc. This position is ideal for parents/guardians of school going children and those who appreciate longer breaks.
Hours Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook food according to set recipes and production plans
* Ensure consistency in portioning, taste, and presentation across all products
* Operate kitchen and production equipment safely and efficiently
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
* Monitor food quality and report any issues or inconsistencies
* Support batch cooking and large-scale food production
* Assist with stock control, ingredient preparation, and waste reduction
* Label, date, and store food correctly in line with food safety standards
* Clean and maintain workstations, utensils, and equipment
* Work closely with the production team to meet daily output targets
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a chef or cook in a food production or commercial kitchen
* Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen controls
* Ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures
* Experience with batch cooking and high-volume production
* Good time management and ability to work to deadlines
Qualifications (Preferred)
* Food Safety Level 2 or above
* Culinary qualification or equivalent experience
