Job Description
We are looking for a Consultant Ecologist to join our dynamic Nature team in Dublin (other locations may be considered). The role focuses on delivering ecological services across renewable energy, transport, water sectors, and supporting biodiversity net gain initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation of high-quality, commercially astute bids and tenders for ecological services.
Plan, schedule and organise all phases of ecological project work, ensuring resources, budgets and controls are in place.
Delivery of ecological consultancy and advisory services to clients, including through our review processes.
Develop robust and pragmatic solutions to complex ecological issues.
Communicate effectively with team members, project stakeholders and clients.
Produce ecology chapters for environmental statements and protected species licence applications.
Author or technical check of project deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs.
Qualifications
Experience working in an ecology-related role in public or private sector, leading field surveys.
Knowledge of UK and EU wildlife legislation, particularly Welsh policy, and the Ecological Impact Assessment process.
Experience in botanical identification, Phase 1 Habitat/NVC surveys and/or protected species surveys (bats or dormouse preferred).
Adaptable and flexible, able to meet peak demands and travel away from home for days or weeks.
Strong report writing skills with demonstrable experience producing a range of ecological reports and advice.
