Our Assistant Scientist and Associate Scientist positions both fall under the working title of 'Scientist I'. While the title is the same, there are different levels of experience required. Our Assistant role is a graduate position with no previous experience needed, our Associate Scientist position requires 1 year proven experience OR a PhD.

Our PPD Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders, and therapeutic guides. Discover Impactful Work:
1. Performs a variety of routine to complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in various formulations and/or biological matrices.
2. Follows validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic direct supervision.
3. Responsible for review and compilation of results and data comparison against SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol, and product specifications.
Education and Experience
* B.S./B.A. in Chemistry or related field with 1 year’s experience in an analytical testing laboratory.
* Associate's degree in laboratory science.
* Knowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendium, and ICH guidelines. Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and/or GLPs to documentation and instrument use.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to independently optimize analytical methods.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Time management and project management skills.
* Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* Performs routine to complex sample preparation and analysis to measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds.
* Reviews and compiles results, making initial determinations on acceptability based on SOP criteria.
* Addresses extraction and instrumentation problems with assistance.
* Trains on analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
* Handles QC/QA responsibilities independently.
* Communicates project status to the project leader.
* Performs work accurately, timely, and safely.
