NOVAS is a Registered Charity and Approved Housing Body working with single adults, couples, and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. Established in Limerick in 2002, the organisation now employs approximately 300 staff and operates more than 30 services across Limerick, Dublin, Clare, Kerry, Cork, and Tipperary. Services include emergency accommodation, transitional housing, homelessness prevention, tenancy sustainment, mental health supports, and recovery-focused services. NOVAS is a Trauma Informed Practice Organisation, with collaboration, respect, diversity, and trust embedded within its approach to both service delivery and internal working relationships.
The Role
The Fundraising Officer will support a broad range of fundraising and donor engagement activities, including:
Supporting community donors, volunteers, schools, sponsored participants, and corporate partners
Assisting with fundraising campaigns and events
Supporting donor stewardship activities including calls, visits, receipting, record keeping, and follow-up
Maintaining donor records and fundraising data accurately
Assisting with grant applications and prospect research
Supporting corporate volunteering activities and fundraising partnerships
Assisting with the delivery of the annual Christmas campaign and Sleep Out initiative
Creating and posting fundraising-related social media content
Working with service managers to identify fundraising needs across the organisation
The role will involve some travel and occasional evening or weekend work.
Person Specification
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
Experience in donor engagement, fundraising, campaign support, community engagement, or event coordination
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Good written and verbal communication skills
Confidence engaging with supporters, volunteers, and community groups
Experience facilitating presentations or public engagement activities
A flexible and collaborative approach to work
The following would be advantageous:
Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
Experience using donor databases such as Salesforce
Knowledge of fundraising best practice and GDPR requirements in Ireland
A relevant third-level qualification
A full driver’s licence and access to a car
