Overview
We are inviting applications for full time and part time Food & Beverage professionals who have knowledge and experience in food service with an eye for detail and take pride in delivering 5* service to join and enhance our established team in The Falls Restaurant & The Stables Brasserie and Bar.
As part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be operating in an exciting, fast-paced quality service outlet. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills under the guidance of the food & beverage management team. This is a great opportunity to grow & develop a career.
Responsibilities
* To ensure the complete satisfaction of each guest.
* To be helpful and work in contact with other departments.
* Ensure restaurant area is always kept clean and tidy.
* Read, understand and comply with responsibilities as defined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
* Comply with all reasonable requests by Management.
* Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and behaviour to guests, colleagues, management.
* Learn restaurant’s table plan.
* Deliver trays to the appropriate station and ensure that the plates are served in a timely manner.
* If on a ‘Commis/Pass’ shift, ensure good communication between kitchen and service.
Role
* Greet and escort customers to their tables.
* Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g., portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies).
* Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
* Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations upon request.
* Up-sell additional products when appropriate.
* Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS system.
* Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol.
* Communicate precisely with Kitchen Staff and serve food and drinks orders.
* Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
* Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.
* Deliver checks and collect payments; carry dirty plates and utensils to the kitchen for cleaning.
* Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials and changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties, VIP).
* Follow all relevant health department regulations and provide excellent customer service to guests.
We have full-time and part-time positions available on a rostered basis, which includes weekends and evening shifts.
Qualifications
* Basic math skills.
* Previous experience in a similar role, 1+ year(s).
* Attentiveness and patience for customers.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
* Active listening and effective communication skills.
* Team spirit and flexibility to work in shifts.
* Punctuality.
* Spoken English (B2 minimum required - CERF Certificate).
