Civil Project Manager - Transport Specialist
Project Overview: Our client is a leading Irish Civils contractor seeking to appoint a skilled Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a civil transport project based in Athlone. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and coordinate construction activities on-site, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and adherence to established standards and schedules.
* Review project plans and requirements, produce a detailed baseline programme on Microsoft Project, and track progress on a regular basis.
* Identify critical path delays, negotiate extensions of time with the client as required, and ensure successful project execution.
* Monitor internal costs, identify areas where the project is losing money, develop strategies to mitigate losses, and communicate commercial issues to the Contracts Manager.
* Understand what is included in the project contract/price and identify variations where they occur.
* Line manager for Site Agent, Project Engineer, and QS, responsible for all workers on site through the Site Agent.
* Review and approve monthly progress claims, Risk Assessment Method Statements, and other pre-construction HS documentation.
* Carry out regular HS and quality audits, identify design issues, and communicate these to the client along with proposed solutions.
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering or construction projects, preferably within the road corridor.
* Excellent computer skills, with detailed knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
* Full driving license.
* Background in civil engineering preferred.
