Spencer Recruitment is working on behalf of a major international consumer-facing business to appoint a Senior Manager, Corporate Communications – Europe, based in Dublin.
This is a high-profile regional communications role for an experienced corporate communications professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, highly visible environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering corporate communications activity across Europe, helping to shape and execute clear, credible messaging across business, reputational and stakeholder issues.
The role will suit someone who combines strong communications execution with sound judgement, media engagement experience, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams across a complex European landscape. Working closely with regional and global colleagues, this position sits at the intersection of corporate narrative, media relations, project delivery, issues management and market intelligence.
The Role
Based in Dublin, this role will support the delivery of the organisation’s corporate communications programme across Europe. It is a hands‑on position, suited to someone who is confident working across multiple markets and who can support communications activity in a structured, responsive and commercially aware way.
The successful candidate will help deliver messaging and communications activity that supports wider business priorities and responds to a changing regulatory and stakeholder environment. They will also play a key role in media monitoring, reporting, reputation support and the development of communications materials for a range of audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the corporate communications strategy across European markets, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
Develop and deliver clear, consistent messaging on corporate, business and reputational topics for European audiences.
Execute proactive and reactive media engagement across key European national, regional and trade media, acting as spokesperson where appropriate.
Lead day-to-day media monitoring across priority markets, providing timely alerts, summaries and insight.
Produce regular media reporting and analysis, including sentiment tracking, performance updates and strategic recommendations.
Manage communications projects and campaigns from planning through to execution, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
Support the handling of reputational issues, emerging risks and sensitive topics across multiple markets.
Monitor the European media and policy landscape to identify risks, developments and opportunities.
Contribute to crisis and issues management planning and response at a regional level.
Work closely with in‑market teams and regional/global communications colleagues to ensure message consistency and timely execution.
Support the development of briefing documents, Q&As, press materials and internal communications updates as required.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a senior corporate communications, PR, public affairs, media relations or related role.
Strong understanding of major European media landscapes and stakeholder environments.
Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple markets and workstreams simultaneously.
Experience supporting senior executives on reputational or sensitive issues, ideally in a regulated or highly scrutinised environment.
Excellent writing, messaging and narrative development skills.
Strong media relations experience, ideally with European national, business and trade media.
Highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment.
Fluency in English is essential; additional European languages would be an advantage.
