This is a high‑profile position that involves working closely with Partners and other senior personnel within Grant Thornton Ireland and its international network, as well as with key finance people in publicly listed companies and multinational environments.

Main Responsibilities

Proficient accountant with a strong understanding of GAAP.
Experience working with multinational corporations in an industry or practice setting.
Previous international experience on accounting, financial reporting and/or supporting auditing of companies across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.
Strong experience in preparing financial statements in IFRS, UK & Irish GAAP; familiarity with other international jurisdictions is desirable but not required.
Assist in maintaining and developing key client relationships.
Support proposal and business development work, preparing budgets, liaising with international offices and partners/directors as well as other relevant stakeholders.
Play a key role in the wider Grant Thornton international community by participating in internal committees and contributing to project work.
Design and implement project plans, delegating tasks effectively to junior members and providing appropriate coaching.
Ensure completion of assignments within the allocated budget and timeframe.
Self‑motivated with a strong team‑working capability.
Manage a team effectively while on assignment.
Responsible for staff development and mentoring.
Working knowledge of ONESOURCE and/or Caseware for account preparation is desirable.
Experience using an electronic auditing package is an advantage.
Strong communicator, highly articulate with excellent report‑writing and Excel skills.
Commercial and business awareness.
A passion for client service.
A genuine interest in IFRS and financial reporting in general.
Ability to learn quickly and stay abreast of developments, particularly IFRS.

Skills and Experience

Recognised accounting qualification.
Audit background is an advantage.
Experience in a top‑20 practice or a multinational international reporting environment.
Minimum of 5 years PQE practical experience in auditing or preparing financial statements.
Strong people and project management skills.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, UK & Irish GAAP; familiarity with other GAAPs such as German, French and/or Spanish is a benefit but not essential.
