Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer Role
Fixed Term Contract, 11 Months at Aut Even Hospital
About the Role:
We are seeking a Clinical Specialist CT Radiographer to support the operational management of our CT service. Working closely with the Radiology Services Manager, you will contribute to delivering high-quality radiology services to patients.
Main Responsibilities:
* Share in-depth knowledge and expertise in CT radiology department operations.
* Implement and support documentation for ionising radiation legislation (SI 30 2019 & SI 256 2018).
* Develop and improve the CT service continuously.
* Oversight of CT team training, development, and competence maintenance.
* Liaise with RSM, CSRs, and Radiologists for efficient cross-site service development.
* Collaborate with Radiology Management team for patient pathway optimisation.
* Active participation in clinical roster components.
* Demonstrate leadership aligned with hospital values.
* Support and deputise for RSM when required.
* Participate in all CT aspects, demonstrating imaging technique and process expertise.
* Support protocol and guideline development for consistent service delivery.
* Manage resources efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain records for equipment safety, staff training, activity, and budget management.
* Evaluate equipment performance and take corrective action for faults noted.
* Participate in recruitment and respond to patient or carer complaints.
* Engage in departmental audits and liaise with clinical teams for effective communication.
* Contribute to business planning, governance, risk management, and incident investigation.
* Maintain personal CPD and adhere to CORU Code of Conduct requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
* BSc in Diagnostic Radiography from the Irish Institute of Radiography.
* CORU registration.
* At least 6 years of post-graduation clinical experience.
* Minimum 3 years' experience at a senior level in a CT department.
* Postgraduate qualification desirable.
* Essential experience in a hospital environment.
* Up-to-date BLS certification.
