Job Description
A Site Engineer is required to work on large civil engineering projects in the midlands region.
The Athlone Flood Alleviation Scheme has eight individual flood cells in total and includes various elements such as construction of earthen embankments, reinforced concrete walls, sheet pile walls, pumping stations, floodgates, glass walls, piling for structural elements, culverts, and associated building and civil engineering works.
The works are spread out over the town of Athlone.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* At least 3 years' experience with a main contractor on the construction of civil engineering projects.
* Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering.
* Current Safe Pass Card.
* Valid driving licence.
* Use of own transport.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of direct labour workforce of up to 25 personnel and specialist subcontractors.
2. Production of method statements and risk assessments.
3. Setting out including levelling, Total-station, GPS work.
4. Monitoring of works to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications.
5. Daily record keeping, site progress photographs.
6. Management of subcontractors.
7. Assistance with procurement of goods and services.
8. Attending site meetings.
9. Liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
10. Quality management, pre-pour inspections.
11. Environmental controls during works.
12. Maintenance of as-built records.
