With a commitment to artistry and innovation, Weir & Sons is the destination for discerning customers seeking unparalleled jewellery.We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Goldsmith to join our dedicated workshop team, contributing to the creation of bespoke and high-quality jewellery pieces that embody the heritage and prestige of Weir & Sons.Key ResponsibilitiesJewellery Creation & RepairDesign, craft, and assemble intricate jewellery pieces using gold and other precious metals.Execute precise repairs, alterations, and resizing of jewellery while maintaining exceptional quality standards.Collaborate with designers and gemmologists to deliver custom orders that meet customer expectations and specifications.Craftsmanship ExcellenceEmploy traditional and modern goldsmithing techniques such as soldering, forging, engraving, and casting.Handle gemstones with the utmost care during setting and finishing processes.Achieve flawless finishes and ensure the durability of all jewellery pieces.Quality AssuranceConduct meticulous inspections of all pieces to uphold Weir & Sons' standards of quality and craftsmanship.Propose refinements or enhancements to ensure customer satisfaction and product excellence.Workshop MaintenanceMaintain tools, equipment, and workspace to ensure functionality and efficiency.Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.Qualifications and SkillsExperience : Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Goldsmith in fine or luxury jewellery.Technical Proficiency :Expertise in advanced metalworking techniques, including soldering, engraving, and hand fabrication.Competency in stone setting and handling precious materials.Familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing is a plus but not essential.Attention to Detail : A meticulous approach to precision and finish, ensuring every piece meets exceptional standards.Creativity and Collaboration : Strong ability to work with a team of designers, gemmologists, and sales professionals to translate vision into reality.Physical Dexterity : Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.Certifications : Formal training or certification in goldsmithing or jewellery-making is highly desirable.What We OfferCompetitive salary reflective of skills and experience.Opportunities for continuous professional development and training.A dynamic and collaborative workplace culture steeped in tradition and innovation.Access to premium tools and state-of-the-art workshop facilities.Weir & Sons is an equal opportunity employer
