Our client is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of a grid connection project forming part of a major onshore wind farm development. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate site execution, GPS surveying, and the production of high‑quality as‑built documentation.This role is suited to an engineer with strong technical capability, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience working on civil, electrical, or renewable energy infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities:Site Engineering & Setting OutCarry out accurate setting out for all civil and electrical works associated with the grid connection (e.g., ducting, trenches, substation works, cable routes).Use GPS, total station, and other surveying equipment to ensure precise alignment and levels.Verify site measurements and ensure works are completed in accordance with design drawings and project specifications.Maintain daily site records, measurements, and quality checks.Surveying & As‑Built DocumentationConduct GPS surveys throughout the project lifecycle.Produce accurate as‑built drawings and survey reports for submission to the client and design team.Update drawings to reflect site changes, deviations, or design modifications.Ensure all documentation meets project, regulatory, and utility provider standards.Coordination & CommunicationWork closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.Liaise with design teams, utility providers, and other stakeholders as required.Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.RequirementsEssentialProven experience as a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer on civil, utility, or renewable energy projects.Strong proficiency with GPS surveying equipment (e.g., Trimble, Leica) and total stations.Ability to produce accurate as‑built drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies.Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.Full driving licence and willingness to work on site.DesirableExperience on grid connection, substation, or wind farm projects.Knowledge of ESB Networks / utility provider standards.Relevant engineering qualification (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geomatics, etc.).Experience with quality assurance processes and site documentation.The contract has a duration of 6 months.
