A high-profile aviation platform is seeking an accomplished International Trade Compliance leader to shape and oversee its global export control and customs operations.
Operating within a highly specialised aviation niche, this organisation offers a fast-paced, international environment where compliance expertise directly supports complex, cross-border transactions.
This is a strategic, customer-facing leadership role with high visibility across the business.
You will work closely with Legal, Technical, Commercial, and Operations teams, providing expert guidance across a diverse and technically complex aircraft portfolio.
The Opportunity
You will lead the development and execution of the company's export control and customs compliance framework, ensuring regulatory alignment across the movement of aircraft, engines, and parts globally.
The role offers meaningful influence over compliance strategy, risk mitigation, and operational best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global export control and customs compliance across the aircraft portfolio
Screen assets and transactions for military or dual-use classification
Advise internal stakeholders on licensing requirements and regulatory obligations
Manage export and customs licences, authorisations, and approvals across jurisdictions
Monitor international trade regulations and implement updated compliance practices
Liaise with global authorities, advisors, and external partners to secure approvals
Act as the internal subject matter expert on compliance risk and mitigation
Collaborate closely with senior leaders across legal, technical, and operations teams
About You
5+ years' experience in export control, customs compliance, or international trade
Background in law, international studies, regulatory compliance, or a related field
Strong familiarity with EU, US, and global export control regimes
Experience operating in a transactional or advisory environment
Detail-focused, commercially aware, and comfortable in a fast-moving, collaborative setting
