Join a leading financial services organization operating across global markets as a Data Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Cork.
This is your opportunity to work on innovative data projects that serve internal teams and support strategic decision-making.
In this pivotal role, you'll develop and support advanced data infrastructure—including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Lakehouses on AWS—while collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and maintain data pipelines. Your contributions will directly enable scalable and efficient reporting solutions that enhance organizational insights and client service delivery.
Key Requirements
* 3-5 years hands‑on experience with Databricks on AWS, with solid cloud data engineering knowledge.
* Proficiency in Python and SQL, with understanding of relational databases like Postgres, Oracle, or SQL Server (preferred but not required).
* Extensive experience developing data pipelines, ETL, and data modelling for data warehousing and BI.
* Ability to collaborate across teams, gather requirements, and deliver scalable data solutions.
* Familiar with GIT for version control and best practices.
* Strong analytical skills to turn complex needs into technical solutions, with clear communication to stakeholders.
Nice to Have Skills
* Experience with Machine Learning or AI initiatives
* Familiarity with web services integration using REST, SOAP, or JSON
* Knowledge of XML or XBRL data formats
* Experience working within Agile or SCRUM environments
* Industry background in finance or banking sectors
Preferred Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
* 5-7 years' experience in data warehousing, BI development, and data analysis
