INFORM3 are recruiting for a Senior Engineer / Agent who will take a leading role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering works, with a strong focus on earthworks and site operations for road construction projects. The role involves managing site teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving programme and cost efficiency. Top contractor seeks a candidate with at least 7 years’ experience in a Senior Engineer or Agent role within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Senior Civil Engineer Responsibilities:
Lead and manage site engineers, supervisors, direct labour, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
Plan, coordinate, and drive daily site activities in line with the construction programme.
Take responsibility for the delivery of earthworks and site works packages, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Oversee Temporary Works design, coordination, and implementation in accordance with relevant standards.
Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements at all times.
Implement and maintain robust quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Liaise closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure alignment on programme, costs, and resources.
Provide technical guidance and input with a focus on constructability, efficiency, and value engineering.
Maintain accurate and detailed site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and as-built information.
Identify, manage, and escalate risks or issues that may impact programme, cost, safety, or quality.
Contribute to the development and management of project programmes, including master programmes and short‑term lookaheads (6‑week and 3‑week).
Coordinate and sequence site activities to maximise productivity and minimise disruption.
Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective actions where required.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, and company procedures.
Senior Civil Engineers Specification:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
7 years+ experience in a Senior Engineer or Agent role within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong experience in earthworks, highways, and site works delivery.
Sound knowledge of construction methods, technical standards, and Temporary Works procedures.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Strong focus on health & safety and quality standards.
Proficient in planning and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project or similar).
