Job Description:
The primary role of the Care Staff is to enhance the lives of residents by providing exceptional care and support.
To achieve this, Care Staff must work collaboratively with all staff members directly involved with residents at Stewarts Care Services Ltd.
Care Staff are part of the Resident Services team, working in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise residents in all aspects of daily life, ensuring their safety and the safety of others, both on and off-site during outdoor activities.
* Provide personalized care and attention to cater for the physical and emotional needs of residents, upholding the highest standards of care.
* Assist in the day-to-day running of sections, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
* Support the training of residents, observing and reporting on their progress to nursing staff and other relevant personnel as needed.
* Participate in client assessment and program implementation, working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
* Accompany residents to outside clinics, hospitals, or other centers for specialized treatment or care, providing preliminary verbal reports upon return.
* Administer medication according to organizational policy and procedure.
* Assist in the induction of new Care Staff, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
* Accept delegated responsibility for residents as directed by the Manager/Social Care Worker or Nurse in Charge.
* Attend In-service Training Programs and lectures to stay updated on best practices and service user development.
* Maintain confidentiality, adhering to the Code of Confidentiality.
* Ensure cleanliness and tidiness in assigned areas.
* Undertake training for the safe administration of medication and participate in fire prevention and emergency training sessions.
Candidates must demonstrate sufficient competency, professional knowledge, and experience to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role. A QQI Level 5 (Healthcare Support) or equivalent qualification is desirable. One year's experience working in the area of disability is preferable. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of relevant policies and procedures are essential.
