We are seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Custom Projects Design Engineer.
About The Role
* This position involves working closely with other engineers and partner teams such as sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service to bring design concepts through to final production.
* Key responsibilities include managing project activities, contributing directly to Astec's mission of driving innovation and expanding product portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Drive design initiatives from concept through to production.
* Support the successful delivery of new project developments.
* Take responsibility for the completion of projects achieving due dates and pre-defined requirements defined by management while working independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agriculture, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
* Minimum 3 years experience in equipment design and manufacturing (mechanical, structural, hydraulic and electrical/control system design).
* Innovative and able to come up with new design concepts and solutions to problems encountered during the design process.
* Proficient with personal computing, Microsoft Office Suite, 3-D CAD software applications and ERP systems.
Preferred Criteria
* Experience in the design of bespoke material handling plant from concept through to production.
* Experience in the use of FEA.
