Description AXA Insurance Ireland is currently seeking a suitable candidate for the role of Senior Tax Accountant.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025.
Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations visiting clients or attending industry events.
Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, the purpose of the role will be to ensure the management of general tax compliance and planning for AXA Group companies based in Ireland, with main responsibilities: Working as part of a team, the provision of tax compliance to AXA companies based in Ireland and the provision and implementation of tax advice across all tax heads including VAT and employment tax.
Ensure timely preparation of transfer pricing documentation including collaborating with colleagues and external advisers.
Develop strong relationships across the business and identify and communicate relevant changes in domestic and international tax policy to the business.
Seek out and implement opportunities for streamlining and simplification of processes and documentation of same Liaise with the French Group tax function, other business departments and the Revenue Commissioners in respect to their tax queries Manage tax projects in respect of matters such as restructuring, international tax changes and process automation Qualifications Qualification as a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Taxation Institute or an equivalent tax qualification (essential) 5 + years' experience working in a tax role (essential) Experience gained in a Big 4 professional practice firm or from a large multinational environment tax team will be an advantage Strong interpersonal skills to keep appropriate people well informed of plans, progress and decisions Proven ability to organise own time effectively to complete tasks efficiently and on time Strong attention to detail and can quickly raise issues when required Excellent business focus, can demonstrate an awareness of management thinking and vision Can act on initiative & proactivity, being able to identify potential problems and act quickly to offset problems or seize opportunities.
This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom.
