Job Description
The primary function of this role is to maintain the hotel's facilities and equipment. This involves identifying and rectifying maintenance issues, ensuring that all necessary tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include attending daily meetings with the General Manager, reviewing the opera maintenance list, and conducting regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up maintenance contracts with preferred external companies, agreeing contract details with the procurement manager, and ensuring that all maintenance contracts are up-to-date.
As part of your duties, you will also be responsible for ensuring guests' safety by eliminating potential risks and hazards, checking and recording the fire detection system weekly, and testing fire doors, emergency lighting, and bell tests on a weekly basis. Furthermore, you will need to check and replace used fire extinguishers immediately and adhere to all health, safety, and fire regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 1 year's experience as a Maintenance Assistant
- Trade qualification/experience (electrical/plumbing) is strongly advantageous
- High attention to detail and standard-focused
- Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously
- Excellent people skills and strong communication and listening skills
