Role: Chemical Engineer — Location: Dublin, Ireland
Job Summary
In this exciting role you will provide expert chemical engineering support to ensure the safety and reliability of heavy equipment. You will investigate chemical-related failures, interpret lab results, approve materials, and contribute to technical decision-making across the engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead investigations into chemical, oil, and lubricant failures on equipment and vehicles
Interpret lab and consultant reports to guide technical decisions
Approve and specify chemicals, fuels, and lubricants for procurement
Conduct in-house material testing and analysis
Collaborate with internal teams and external labs or consultants
Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Chemical Science or Chemical Engineering
5+ years industry experience
Strong knowledge of chemical safety, failure analysis, and material treatments
Skilled in interpreting lab data and writing technical reports
Familiarity with EN, ISO, and railway standards
Excellent communication, analytical, and IT skills
Desirable
Knowledge of some of the following rail, automotive, heavy engineering equipment and managing stock systems
Membership in a professional engineering body is welcomed.
You must be legally able to work in Ireland without need for sponsorship.
You will be able to travel to the site each day.
