The Company Our client is a well-established, privately owned engineering business with a strong reputation for quality and delivery. Their work is often secured through competitive tendering, and they pride themselves on their technical expertise and long-standing client relationships. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate, will be responsible for compiling estimates of project costs, in order to provide a potential client with the tendered products and services. The role will involve assessing Materials, Labour, Plant and other Equipment required to deliver the project. Main Responsibilities Liaise with Design, Commercial & Operations Teams to develop a Tendering Plan within Project / Client Deadlines Assess tender information to fully understand the client requirements On completion of tender review, to engage with all internal departments and communicate all relevant commercial and technical requirements Work with all internal and external parties to source reliable information and to produce accurate and detailed cost information Using best practice and company systems, produce detailed and accurate take offs from drawings Use all company systems to electronically manage, archive and store all project documentation (in line with company quality procedures) Manage potential Estimating Risks effectively though the project cycle clearly communicating any assumptions or qualifications under consideration and to protect the interests of the company Prepare detailed and auditable Quotations and Tenders of the highest quality and on time Attend meetings with clients as required Travelling to England time to time Provide all required documentation to the internal teams as part of the Project Handover Process Work with the Commercial, Design and Operational teams; Pre, Mid & Post tender to minimise risk Work with the Commercial, Design and Operational teams; to assist in identifying, changes and to maximise contractual value from Project Extras / Variations The Person Experience in costing Architectural Fabrications / Miscellaneous Metalwork Have at least 3 years industry experience in a similar role The ability to read, analyse and extract the relevant data from complex civil engineering documentation A clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for business travel Reply Instructions If you feel you have the necessary skills and attributes, then please send your CV via the relevant method.
