Process Technician Job
The Process Technician will be deployed to production and other site activities as and when required. This individual must manufacture product in a safe, compliant and efficient manner, whilst ensuring manual and electronic records and documentation is completed accurately and contemporaneously.
This role requires the individual to work with various equipment such as reactors, centrifuges, dryers, powder transfer systems, filters and pumps. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of environmental, health and safety and quality compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing site log books, documentation and electronic records as required, accurately, legibly and contemporaneously. They will also ensure all materials used for a batch are recorded in accordance with procedures and good document practices.
The Process Technician will be expected to follow documented work instructions to ensure quality product is made and properly packaged for shipment to the customer. They will also participate in process and safety deviation investigations and change management process.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining work areas and ancillary areas, plant and equipment to the highest standards at all times. They will also report any issues without delay and promptly escalate any issues to their Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum leaving certificate and preferably a post leaving qualification in manufacturing, engineering or related discipline. Good computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP is also essential.
The Process Technician will play a vital role in operational excellence, continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma certified initiatives. They will also participate in training and development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manufacture products in compliance with batch manufacturing instructions (BMIs), production and equipment procedures.
* Handle raw materials, product and waste materials in and out of production and stores areas.
* Dispense materials for batches or quality and technical services as needed.
* Sample raw materials, finished and semi-finished products as needed for operations and quality and technical services.
* Drive fork trucks and use other material and waste handling equipment.
* Complete site log books, documentation and electronic records as required.
* Ensure quality product is made and properly packaged for shipment to the customer.
* Participate in process and safety deviation investigations and change management process.
* Maintain work areas and ancillary areas, plant and equipment to the highest standards.
* Report any issues without delay.
