About the Role
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative electrical products tailored to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop technical specifications, CAD drawings, and engineering documentation for customer approval and internal use.
* Coordinate the manufacture of prototype units, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
* Collaborate with the R&D team to identify opportunities for process and product improvements, driving business growth.
* Optimise mechanical design to meet customer specifications and performance targets, leveraging your expertise in CAD software.
* Produce clear manufacturing instructions and support factory operations to ensure designs are accurately implemented, streamlining production processes.
* Maintain and update all relevant technical documentation and specifications, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
* Act as a key liaison between engineering and production teams, fostering quality and efficiency in manufacturing, and driving continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with a strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
* Experience with design software such as CREO (or similar CAD tools), with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment is highly desirable, with a focus on product development and production.
* Knowledge of internal standards, product conformity, and quality control metrics, with a emphasis on regulatory compliance.
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, with experience in creating technical reports and presentations.
* Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage, with knowledge of inventory management and supply chain logistics.
* A full clean driving licence is preferable, enabling flexibility in work arrangements.
