Job Description - Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel (25000007)
Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the legal, regulatory and compliance affairs of the Allied World Europe and Lloyd’s Syndicate 2232 platforms and their related entities.
2. Negotiate and assist with regional contracts and general corporate and governance matters.
3. Assist with providing legal advice and training to the business.
4. Monitor for and advise the business on legal and regulatory updates.
5. Handle and assist with insurance regulatory and compliance matters, including complaints handling and regulatory filings.
6. Handle and assist with data privacy matters.
7. Maintain good relationships with outside counsel.
8. Work effectively with the Legal & Compliance Department globally to ensure global consistency where possible.
9. Such other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
1. An attorney with three to six years of total legal experience with a recognized law firm and/or in a corporate setting.
2. Must be a qualified / licensed solicitor in England and/or Ireland.
3. Strong insurance and reinsurance background preferred.
4. Strong working knowledge of UK and EU laws and regulations.
5. Experience dealing with the CBI, FCA, PRA and/or Lloyd’s.
6. Must be a team player and very collegial.
7. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
8. Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a busy environment.
