As a Junior Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for providing advice regarding on-site health and safety issues, as well as striving to improve safe conditions in the work place. The position will be site based on a various sites in the Cork area.The duties will include but are not limited too;· Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate)· Assisting Contracts Managers with the drafting of site specific method statements and risk assessments prior to the commencement of work.· Conducting regular formal site audits and inspections and report findings to senior management. Immediate follow up is required to ensure all items are addressed and closed out.· Delivering Health & Safety company induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors· Accident investigation and reporting. Ensure all accidents are reported, recorded and investigated.· Assist site management with the drafting and communication of Tool Box Talks and Safe Action Plans.· Liaise with the Client / Main Contractor Health & Safety Team.· Managing and making recommendations for Personal Protection Equipment required for Employees.SkillsThe successful candidate will have had exposure to the H&S officer role, strong communication skills, and a knowledge of construction site procedures.
