Production Planner
Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite
Shanbally, Ringaskiddy, Cork
The primary role of the Production Planner is to plan, schedule and coordinate manufacturing activities across Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finish Goods Packaging Operations. The planner ensures operational readiness aligns with the Master Production Schedule to support production operations and product launch activities.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule and maintain ongoing production planning activities in the execution of the Master Production Schedule and translation into detailed production schedules for intermediates.
Execute firm plan and process order management as required by the detailed schedule.
Monitor BOMs and recipes, escalating updates through the Tier process where required.
Maintain schedules within SAP and update as required to support real‑time MRP planning.
Maintain and issue site schedules (Detailed Production Lego/Detailed Production Schedule).
Generate data to support performance review (Plan V action) for end‑campaign reviews.
Plan scenarios to maintain detailed schedule in the Frozen Horizon (0–4 months).
Provide inputs into the monthly site Supply Review meeting (SR).
Ensure KPI’s for the Site Planning function are maintained within business parameters.
Participate in the delivery of Change Request, CAPA and Deviation within the Quality Management System (QMS).
Participate in daily cross‑functional meetings to ensure adherence to schedule (ATS) and adherence to plan (ATP) in line with Make / Assess / Release commitments.
Participate in Product‑based S&O in collaboration with counterparts in GEO and Supply Planning.
Participate in Site ORP programs where Planning functional input is needed.
Communicate schedule to production and support departments and outline risks to meet the Detailed Schedule.
Support identification and proactive resolution of constraints and schedule conflicts in the Frozen Horizon (0–4 months).
Support the Senior Production Planning/Master Scheduler in resolving capacity or schedule conflicts in the Flexi and Planning Horizon (5–36 months).
Member of the functional process team level as required.
Facilitate daily Tier 1 planning meeting.
Facilitate weekly internal S&O meetings to ensure cross‑functional alignment of plans.
Engage Right First Time (Six‑Sigma) and lean manufacturing practices leading to Operational Excellence.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects:

Safety and Quality
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Planner Standard Work
Metrics
Operational Readiness Programs (ORP)


Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities

Development of efficient and effective production planning processes and systems.
Engage with stakeholders in an ethical and compliant manner when required.
Be patient and customer‑focused, ensuring that requirements are clearly planned for and communicated.
Be results‑driven while ensuring optimization of cross‑functional resources.
Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within Material Operations and BioMarin.
Collaborate across departments within the site and across the wider BioMarin community.
Ensure completion of department and personal goals and objectives efficiently.
Demonstrate integrity at all times.
Show drive and eagerness to progress to higher levels of responsibility.

Education & Experience

A minimum of an Honor's Degree (NFQ level 7) in Supply Chain Management or a related business discipline.
Supply Chain certification preferred (e.g., APICS).
Project Management or Lean certification desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years relevant Supply Chain Management experience.
Experience in planning within a pharmaceutical environment with strong technical/systems background desirable.
Experience with SAP is essential.
Power BI or similar data analytics tool knowledge desirable but not essential.
Experience working in a GMP environment for at least 1 year.
Experience with project management focused on value creation and waste reduction programs highly desirable.
