Summary
This two year project will focus on advancing Edlong Europe’s transition from flavor house to taste technology leader. The graduate will systematically evaluate our flavour systems, masking technologies, and taste boosters to build a robust understanding of performance across key applications. The project will generate validated technical data and application insights, enabling the commercial team to position solutions more effectively across snacks & seasonings, sauces & dressings, dairy beverages, and dairy products. Outputs will support innovations, customer engagement, and revenue growth across the EU market.
Job Description
This role is a 24‑month graduate placement within the Applications team, focusing on systematic evaluation of flavour and taste solutions. The graduate will work closely with product development and sales teams to generate actionable insights from application trials, supporting commercial positioning and innovation across the EU market.

Computer Skills
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Product development software such as ProductVision or similar.
CRM tools and internal business software such as SalesForce.
DHL, UPS, FEDEX, Concur, and Bartender.
Training will be provided for all other systems.
Physical Demands
Regularly stand, walk, and sit.
Operate keyboard, calculator, and telephone.
Lift up to 20kg.
Occasionally stir products manually.
Work Environment
Fully onsite, requiring attendance in the facility five days per week.
Traditional lab and office setting within an environmentally controlled building.
Required attendance with few unscheduled absences.
Occasional use of flammable and/or corrosive chemicals with proper safety considerations.
May be exposed to fumes at times.
Use of safety equipment is mandatory for several processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Is an entry‑level graduate or postgraduate.
Has a recognised qualification not less than Level 6 on the National Vocational Qualifications Framework, or an equivalent postgraduate degree not less than Level 9.
Has a valid work permit for Ireland (if required) for the duration of the 24‑month placement, or holds a 1‑year working visa with the option to renew the visa to allow completion of the 2‑year contract.
Has graduated within the last four years.
Can provide proof of language proficiency where required by hiring company.
Job Responsibilities
Screen flavor profiles.
Conduct application trials.
Test masking and taste modulation systems across various food matrices.
Prepare product prototypes.
Analyze performance and document findings.
Contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with local and global R&D teams to ensure alignments and consistency in product understanding and application.
Serve as the key technical support person within the Applications function, focusing on generating actionable insights from systematic testing of flavour and taste solutions.
Design and execute trials, evaluate sensory and functional performance, and translate findings into practical application guidance.
Develop demo kits and application prototypes that showcase product benefits.
Support customer‑facing activities as needed.
Execute other duties, as assigned.
Contribute to Applications team efforts, collaboration, and results by following Edlong’s guidelines, supporting departmental objectives, and aligning with the Corporate Mission, Vision, and Strategic goals.
