Offaly About the Role Windmill Healthcare is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Laundry Assistant to join the Care Team at Ferbane Care Centre.
This is a part-time position with set working days .
As a Laundry Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting resident wellbeing by ensuring the highest standards of laundry care, hygiene, and infection control.
You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary care team in a resident-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities Collect residents' laundry in line with infection control policies Iron all bedding; fold and store towels and face cloths neatly Ensure all residents' clothing is clearly labelled to prevent loss Deliver laundry to residents and ensure clothing is neatly put away Maintain tidy wardrobes and chests of drawers Monitor stock levels of laundry equipment and supplies Maintain laundry checklists and support day-to-day laundry operations Clean and maintain laundry room and equipment daily (washers, dryers, lint trays, floors, laundry bags) Adhere strictly to health safety and infection control guidelines Report incidents to the Laundry Manager / Director of Nursing Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents Participate in audits, meetings, and service evaluations as required Ensure resident safety at all times Requirements Previous laundry or relevant experience desirable but not essential (full training provided) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail Good level of verbal and written English Why Join Ferbane Care Centre?
