Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Technical Manager to join the technical and quality team in Monaghan. The Assistant Technical Manager will work closely with all departments to ensure food safety, product quality, and compliance, supporting the wider site in delivering safe, legal, and high-quality products to market. The Role
* Work with all departments and management colleagues to ensure food safety, quality, and legality of products in line with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance on food safety, supporting teams to resolve issues and overcome operational challenges.
* Assist the Technical Manager in managing, implementing, and monitoring the Food Safety Management System, including the HACCP plan.
* Support and participate in business improvement projects, driving and embedding continuous improvement.
* Play an active role as part of the HACCP/TACCP teams.
* Ensure all required departmental audits are completed, with effective corrective actions implemented and closed out in a timely manner.
* Complete complaint investigations, identify root cause, implement corrective and preventive actions, and communicate trends to the wider team.
* Carry out internal system audits, identify root causes of non-conformances, and lead corrective and preventive actions to close out findings.
* Conduct site risk assessments as required.
* Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by the Technical Manager/Line Manager.
The Person
* Third-level degree in a food-related discipline.
* Proven experience in food safety within a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of food safety, legislation, and compliance with EU and UK regulations.
* Experience of third-party and customer audits (e.g. BRCGS and retailer audits).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
* Solutions-focused mindset with the ability to investigate issues and implement practical improvements.
