We are currently looking for a Construction Supervisor to work in the Rail Division.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a project in Ireland.
Role Overview
The Construction Supervisor will play a key onsite leadership role in the delivery of the
Luas Finglas extension project
, overseeing day-to-day construction activities to ensure works are completed
safely, on programme, to specification, and in full compliance
with Irish and light rail standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Construction Management
Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities across light rail works, including:
Trackform and permanent way
Civil works (foundations, drainage, structures)
Utilities diversions and interfaces
Stations, platforms, and corridor work
Ensure works are delivered in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction programmes
Monitor progress against programme and report issues, delays, or risks to the Construction Manager
Health, Safety & Environment
Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, safety briefings, and daily activity briefings
Identify hazards, implement control measures, and stop unsafe work when necessary
Ensure subcontractors adhere to RAMS and permit-to-work systems
Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management
Supervise subcontractors and operatives, ensuring adequate resources and competencies on site
Coordinate interfaces between different trades and work packages
Liaise with project engineers, planners, safety officers, and design teams
Support engagement with key stakeholders where required, including local authorities and client representatives
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate site records, including:
Daily site diaries
Labour and plant returns
Progress reportsSafety observations and incident reports
Contribute to look-ahead planning and coordination meetings
Required Experience & Skills
Essential
Proven experience in a
Construction Supervisor / Site Supervisor
role on
rail, light rail, highways, or major infrastructure projects
Civils background
Solid knowledge of
health & safety legislation
and site safety management
Ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractors effectively
Desirable
Supervisor / management training (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely / SSSTS / SMSTS)
