What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Designer to oversee the implementation of robust security solutions across our organisation's infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in security engineering, risk assessment, and modern cloud and network security practices. You will work closely with stakeholders across IT, DevOps, Compliance, and Development to ensure our systems are secure by design.
In this Role, you will
1. Collaborate with security architects on projects as needed, assisting in the Security Architecture design process.
2. Develop and manage the new SAF Jira Framework, establishing standard processes and practices for team efficiency.
3. Create and maintain meeting artefacts (memos, notes, action items) for the Security Architecture Roundtable meetings.
4. Maintain all confluence spaces and items owned by the Security Strategy and Architecture team.
5. Manage the security architecture framework Threat library.
What will make you stand out?
* Pragmatic approach with a willingness to learn and a can-do attitude.
* Experience designing and implementing secure enterprise-level architecture, with hands-on threat modelling, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
* Deep knowledge of network, application, and cloud security principles, familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline security.
* Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, government).
* Proficiency with security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection) and the ability to communicate risks and solutions effectively.
* Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
* Strong leadership or mentoring experience within multi-functional security teams.
Essential Qualifications
* Relevant security certifications such as SSCP, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
* Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related discipline.
* Additional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CEH, AWS/Azure Security) are desirable but not essential.

Location & Travel
This hybrid onsite role can be performed anywhere in the Republic of Ireland, primarily based at Baggot Plaza, Dublin DO4. Travel for collaboration will be required; exact frequency to be agreed with the manager.
