Job Overview
The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for driving the System, Hospital, and Nursing Service's mission, vision, values, strategic plan, clinical management, patient care, financial management, and quality management across all hospital areas during their shift in the absence of leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Nursing Department and facility operations during their shift in the absence of leadership, including staff hiring, education, evaluation, management, and development.
2. Implement and uphold the System, Hospital, and Nursing Service's mission, vision, values, strategic plan, clinical management, patient care, budgeting, financial management, and quality initiatives.
3. Foster a patient-centered environment that meets individual patient needs by promoting service standards and collaboration among physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members.
4. Cultivate a culture of safety and accountability by modeling professional standards and encouraging learning organization principles in leadership practices.
5. Develop, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care staff and programs; provide guidance on clinical and management issues.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote staff inclusion, empowerment, and development strategies.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
* Current Registered Nurse license in New York State required, with necessary specialized certifications.
* Minimum of 7 years of technical nursing experience required.
* At least 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
