This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced Buyer / Supply Chain Specialist to join this well known, successful Irish company. Working directly with the Purchasing Director, this role offers significant opportunity for professional development and progression within a dynamic purchasing and supply chain function.
You will play a key role in managing stock levels, supplier relationships, and purchase orders, while supporting the smooth flow of goods across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day stock control
* Place purchase orders in line with demand forecasts, sales trends, and lead times
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing and stock records within internal systems
* Liaise closely with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedules
* Build and maintain strong, professional supplier relationships
* Work collaboratively with the supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues as they arise
* Assist with range planning, product launches, and seasonal buying cycles
* Support the Purchasing Director with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a buying, purchasing, or supply chain role (home furnishings, retail, or FMCG experience an advantage)
* Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
* Proven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliers
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
* Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
* A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and develop
