About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Capital Project Manager with a strong background in delivering end-to-end automation projects within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will lead and execute medium to large capital projects, ensuring full compliance with all quality, safety, and project management requirements.
Projects are focused on automation upgrades to pharmaceutical processing equipment, as well as improvements across OT/IT networks, data transfer systems, and directory structures.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage capital projects of varying complexity using established project management methodologies.
* Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Oversee project activities through the full lifecycle—from initiation to handover and close-out.
* Lead cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders and external contractors.
* Maintain compliance with GMP, GEP, data integrity, and quality systems.
* Facilitate planning/problem-solving sessions and ensure alignment with business strategy.
* Ensure readiness for inspections and adhere to procurement and accounting regulations.
* Promote and maintain high EHS standards with a strong focus on proactive safety culture.
Project Scope Includes
Execution of automation upgrades for legacy equipment at the site, including:
* Automation system upgrade – Glatt Coater (installed 2003)
* Automation system upgrade – Tablet Print & Inspection Machine (installed 2013)
* Automation system upgrades – 2 x Drum Blenders (installed 1997 & 1999)
* Virtualisation of validated Facility Monitoring System (FMS)
Technical & Functional Expertise
* Strong understanding of automation systems, manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, P&IDs, and supplier documentation.
* Extensive experience managing full project lifecycles from concept to training and handover.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
* High awareness of GMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline (Engineering preferred).
* 10–15 years' experience managing capital projects/programs up to €3M.
* Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech environments.
* Background in large multinational organisations.
* Strong financial and business acumen.
* Experience managing contractors and supervising installation activities on the shop floor.
* Scheduling, cost estimation, and cost-control knowledge.
* Certified Project Manager (IPMA/PMI) is a strong advantage.
