Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Maintenance Operative to join our team. This role involves the day-to-day upkeep of our yard and storage facilities, as well as assisting with the movement, loading, and delivery of materials to various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a good work ethic, and the ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Yard & Storage Maintenance
* Maintain the yard and storage buildings in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
* Ensure materials are stored correctly and accessible for operational needs.
* Carry out routine housekeeping tasks and assist in maintaining health and safety standards.
Material Handling & Logistics
* Receive incoming materials, check quantities and quality, and record deliveries in line with company procedures.
* Prepare and load materials for delivery to construction sites.
* Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, or other handling equipment (training provided if required).
* Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.
Collection & Delivery Duties
* Transport materials between company locations and construction sites using a company vehicle.
* Collect materials and equipment from suppliers when required.
* Ensure all loads are secured safely, and all driving complies with road safety legislation and company policies.
General Operative Tasks
* Assist with general duties across the yard and site operations as needed.
* Support the wider team with manual handling tasks and operational support.
Requirements
Essential
* Full, clean Irish driving license (B; additional categories an advantage).
* Good level of physical fitness and ability to handle manual tasks.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Desirable
* Experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment.
* Forklift license.
* Knowledge of basic stock control practices.
