Responsibilities
* Manage Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with client representatives, supporting ongoing activities and ensuring positive interactions on behalf of the company.
* Site Management: Attend regular site meetings, providing updates to the Project Manager and Senior Surveyor, and addressing any issues or challenges in a timely manner.
* Scope Variations: Evaluate and agree on project scope variations with the client and associated subcontractors to ensure accurate cost assessments.
* Final Account Management: Assist in compiling and agreeing on final accounts in collaboration with the Senior Site Surveyor.
* Project Reporting: Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) and Project Manager with all commercial functions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Project Commercial Team.
* Tender & Subcontractor Management: Prepare tenders, select suitable subcontractors, negotiate terms, and manage the financial and commercial aspects of subcontractor agreements.
* Document Control: Ensure accurate site records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle, including all measurement and contract documentation.
* Forecasting & Variations: Assist with preparing forecasts, targets, and CV reconciliations, proactively managing variations and updating final account projections.
* Risk & Opportunity Management: Review project risks and opportunities, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
* Insurance & Warranties: Develop an understanding and compliance with all site-related insurance and warranty requirements.
* Cash Flow Management: Maintain strong cash management practices, supporting the smooth financial flow of the project.
* Tender Support: Provide tender support as required, contributing to competitive and accurate bidding processes.
Requirements
* Holds a degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification) and has 3-5 years of main contractor experience.
* Skills: Strong communication, time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Exposure to project reporting software and ERP system would be beneficial.
* Time Management: Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement (SMM) and a strong commercial awareness.
* Negotiation & Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills to work with clients, subcontractors, and the internal team. Experience in Building Services is advantageous.
