We are seeking a qualified and experienced leader to fill the role of Director of Nursing at our healthcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the nursing team, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing the day-to-day operations of the department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing leadership, with a minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in older person care and at least 3 years of management experience in health or social care. They will also possess a management qualification in health or a related field, as well as evidence of continuous professional development.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the nursing team to ensure high-quality patient care
* Managing the day-to-day operations of the department
* Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes
* Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless care delivery
The successful candidate will be registered as a General Nurse with the NMBI and possess a knowledge of Health Act 2007, HIQA guidelines, NMBI Scope of Practice & Code of Professional Conduct and importance of Safeguarding / dementia care.
A postgraduate diploma in Gerontology and additional management qualifications are desirable. Strong IT and digital skills are also essential, as is awareness of international best practices in elder care.
